  17. Nancy Brant Malcolm, 72, of Hampden Township, Camp Hill

    Nancy Brant Malcolm, 72, of Hampden Township, Camp Hill, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township. Nancy was born Nov. 6, 1939 in Rockwood, the daughter of Homer Delbert and Edna Benford Brant. She graduated from Rockwood High School in 1957 and earned her RN degree from Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. She began her nursing career at Pennsylvania Hospital. She continued to work at a private medical practice in Bryn Mawr; moved to Pittsburgh where she nursed for the Visiting Nurse Association; moved to Hershey where she worked as a Visiting Nurse in Harrisburg. She then began a career with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Public Welfare. She retired with 24.5 years of service in Feb., 2001 as the Division Director of the Provider Services Division, Bureau of Fee for Service Programs, Office of Medical Assistance Programs. Nancy was a member of Silver Spring Presbyterian Church, Mechanicsburg. Surviving are her husband of nearly 44 years, John B. Malcolm Jr.; a son, John B. III and his wife Brynanne A. Malcolm, and a granddaughter, Anna Brant Malcolm, of Basking Ridge, N.J.; two brothers: Delbert Leon Brant of Rockwood; and Robert Wayne Brant and his wife, Suzanne, of Garrett. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Donald J. Steele, her minister, officiating. Burial will be in The Indiantown Gap National Cemetery following the services. Refreshments will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are respectfully requested to the Cleve J. Fredricksen Library, 100 N. 19th St., Camp Hill, PA 17011.     The phrase “green on blue attacks” is a reference to when members of the Afghan forces turn on Western troops.  As of late these incidents are becoming a growing concern as dozens of service members have already been killed.  In fact Tuesday morning, Fox News reported the top U.S. General was attacked in Afghanistan when he tried to stop such insider attacks.  The strike took place shortly after midnight and forced Bagram Air Force Base to lockdown for more than an hour.
