    The Proud Flesh are heading down I-95 from New Haven Thursday night to play the Acoustic Cafe in support of their new album <em>Home</em>, which was self-produced in their Elm City live-in studio space. They play their own blend of experimental Americana, and the record features a guest vocal by '70s pop star Melanie, of all people. Also on the bill are Billy Wilder and Dr. Caterwauls Cadre of Clairvoyant Claptraps. <strong></strong>

  3. The String Quartet Truck is on the Move Around New Haven

    The Haven String Quartet are performing up a storm as part of the International Festival of Arts &amp; Ideas this week. And they're doing it all over town. The String Quartet Truck, a flatbet truck on which the quartet performs, will make stops through out the Elm City between June 17-21, so you'll have plenty of chances to catch a performance or two. Here is where you can find the foursome: June 17: 12-12:30 p.m. in the Music Haven parking lot (117 Whalley Ave.); 2-2:30 near the corner of York and Chapel sts.; 4-4:30 p.m. at Scantlebury Park (139 Ashmun St.). June 18: 12-12:30 p.m. on Cedar St., between Congress Ave. and York St.; 2-2:30 p.m. on College St., near Co-op High School (177 College St.). June 19: 12-12:30 p.m. near City Hall (165 Church St.); 2-2:30 p.m. at DeGale Field, across from Hillhouse High School (480 Sherman Pkwy.). June 20: 12-12:30 p.m. in the Broadway parking lot (intersection of Broadway and Elm St.); 2-2:30 p.m. in the C-Town parking lot (325 Ferry St.). June 21: 12-12:30 p.m. near Union Station (50 Union Ave.); 2-3:30 p.m. in the Stop &amp; Shop parking lot (150 Whalley Ave.). We're tired just thinking about it.
