Friends Miranda, Angeleena Presley and Ashley Monroe have long been fans of each other’s music, which is exactly how Miranda knew they were the perfect bandmates. “<em>Sittin’ on the couch, I’m at my farm in Oklahoma, Ashley and I were writin’ songs, and we wrote a couple songs that are now on the record that sort of sparked this idea of bein’ in a girl band. Called Ang — and she had introduced me to Angaleena’s music — and just loved it…fell in love with it. Miranda Lambert, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe say the idea to form the band happened by accident. “[Angaleena] This whole project kinda got started because… [Miranda] Because of ‘Beige’ and ‘Bad Example’… [Angaleena] They had written songs that Miranda knew weren’t really for her record, and Ashley knew they weren’t for her record. They were like, ‘Well, we’re not gonna give these songs away! What are we gonna do?’ Enter me! [Ashley] Girl band! [laughs]” The album sold more than 44-thousand copies its debut week and also landed at #5 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart.
