The exchange was caught on camera by SPEEDtv and included Busch telling the Sporting News' Bob Packrass, “It (the probation) refrains me from beating the (expletive) out of your right now, because you ask me stupid questions. But since I’m on probation, I suppose that that’s improper to say as well.”
As Busch referenced in his tirade, he is already on probation. That is for doing a burnout in Ryan Newman‘s pit box and then fighting with one of Newman's crew members in Darlinton. Busch was also fined $50,000 for that incident.
This is not the first confrontation between Busch and a NASCAR reporter. You may remember it was just last season that he had some harsh words directed at ESPN pit reporter Dr. Jerry Punch at Homestead Miami Speedway. (caution for language)
He also ripped up a paper and threw it in the face of AP Motorsports writer Jenna Fryer and exchanged words with NASCAR.com’s Joe Menzer after the race in Richmond last fall.
Shortly after the video of Busch's exchange with Punch surfaced, he parted ways with Penske Racing. The former champion now drives for the small single car team of Phoenix racing and sits 25th in the points standings.
NASCAR has not commented about what went on during the meeting with Busch.
