  1. Dick Clark dies at age 82

<span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Famed "American Bandstand" and "New Year's Rockin' Eve" host Dick Clark died Wednesday morning (April 18) following what his agent Paul Shefrin says was a "massive heart attack." He was 82 years old. Clark's rep tells TMZ that he had been in the hospital after undergoing an outpatient procedure Tuesday night. He had the "massive" heart attack following the procedure. In 2004, Clark suffered a stroke, which forced him to retire from his New Year's hosting duties. Then in 2006 Ryan Seacrest took over the show, which Clark created in 1972, with Clark as co-host. Before his stroke, Clark revealed he had type 2 diabetes. The longtime producer, who got his start as a DJ in Philadelphia in 1952, is survived by his wife, Kari Wigton, and three children from his first two marriages.</span>
