  1. Billy Ray Heads to '90210'

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Billy Ray Cyrus has been tapped to play &ldquo;Judd Ridge&rdquo; on the <em>CW</em> drama <em>90210</em>. <em>Entertainment Weekly</em> reports that the country star will play the father of southern rich kid &ldquo;Austin&rdquo; in an upcoming episode, set to air in November. This will be Billy Ray&rsquo;s first TV role since <em>Hannah Montana</em>, starring his daughter Miley Cyrus, went off the air earlier this year. <em>90210</em> has already had one country star appear on the show&rsquo;s set this season. Kellie Pickler taped an episode which airs later this season where she plays a country artist, and even performs her current single, &ldquo;Tough.&rdquo;</span>

  3. John Rich Gets Reality Show

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Blake Shelton isn&rsquo;t the only country singer starring on a singing competition show &ndash; John Rich has been cast for the new CW series The Star Next Door. Queen Latifah serves as the executive producer of the show and Gloria Estefan has also been cast a mentor. The show is said to be different from other singing competitions since mentors will &ldquo;travel to the talent&rdquo; and &ldquo;immerse themselves in the lives and towns of the local performers.&rdquo;More mentors will be revealed in the upcoming months, and the show is set to premier this summer.</span>

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Rachel Bilson &mdash; who used to play Summer on &lsquo;The OC&rsquo; &mdash; is back on a weekly TV series. She&rsquo;s playing the lead character in &lsquo;Hart of Dixie&rsquo; on the CW, starring as a New York City doctor who is transplanted down south to Alabama. CMT reports that the show&rsquo;s Monday night premiere was heavy on contemporary country music, given the series&rsquo; setting and all! Props to the producers for focusing on newer tunes by current artists, which isn&rsquo;t always the case.</span>
