    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">For the sixth straight year, Dierks Bentley hosted his Miles and Music for Kids event in Nashville, raising over $200,000 for Vanderbilt&rsquo;s Children&rsquo;s Hospital.   5. Stars Represent on CW's 'Hart of Dixie'

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Rachel Bilson &mdash; who used to play Summer on &lsquo;The OC&rsquo; &mdash; is back on a weekly TV series. She&rsquo;s playing the lead character in &lsquo;Hart of Dixie&rsquo; on the CW, starring as a New York City doctor who is transplanted down south to Alabama. CMT reports that the show&rsquo;s Monday night premiere was heavy on contemporary country music, given the series&rsquo; setting and all! Props to the producers for focusing on newer tunes by current artists, which isn&rsquo;t always the case.</span>

  8. Lady A Talks New Album

    Lady Antebellum will release its third album, <em>Own the Night</em>, on September 13th. The project&rsquo;s first single, &ldquo;Just a Kiss,&rdquo; is the fastest-rising release of the trio&rsquo;s career. The band cleared its calendar after winning five <em>Grammys</em> in January to begin rehearsals for the album, bringing songs they had already written. Hillary Scott describes the collection as <em>&ldquo;nostalgic&rdquo;</em> and hopes that fans will pick up on the new project&rsquo;s vibe.&nbsp; <em>&ldquo;We just want that title, Own the Night, to carry over into our live shows like we want our fans, our audience to take ownership in the show and live in the moment and own the night, you know?&rdquo; </em>The album title comes from one of the new tracks, titled &ldquo;We Owned the Night.&rdquo; Lady Antebellum will perform &ldquo;Just a Kiss&rdquo; at the <em>CMT Music Awards </em>tonight on <em>CMT</em> and <em>CMT.com</em>.

  9. Matt Mason is Next CMT Superstar

Matt and runner-up Steven Clawson kicked off the Friday night finale with a showdown of Johnny Cash and Elvis Pressley classics. Broadway star Kristen Chenoweth also dropped by to debut her first country single &ldquo;I Want Somebody.&rdquo; In addition to a record deal with <em>Warner Music Nashville</em>, Matt will hit the road this summer with headliner Luke Bryan for <em>CMT On Tour. </em>The new <em>Superstar </em>hopes to put to use all the advice he picked up along the way during the competition.<em>&ldquo;All this is a learning experience, you know?     <em>American Idol</em>&rsquo;s Lauren Alaina premieres the video for her debut single, &ldquo;Like My Mother Does&rdquo; today on <em>CMT</em> and <em>CMT.com</em>. At the shoot, Lauren says her mom was by her side to help calm any first-video jitters.&nbsp; <em>&ldquo;I wasn&rsquo;t super nervous about singing it because it&rsquo;s about my mom, it&rsquo;s not like I have to be like singing about some guy and being super nervous about it!&nbsp;And she was there, and there was a cable reaching to this TV and my mom was watching, and I knew she was watching on the other side of the screen.&nbsp;So in between shots, I would talk to her through the screen!   11. CMT Award Show Performers Get Boost

    Country artists who performed on the 2011 <em>CMT Music Awards</em> last Wednesday have seen a boost in sales of their music. According to <em>SoundScan</em>, four of the top five country singles were performed on the <em>CMT Music Awards</em> with Jason Aldean&rsquo;s &ldquo;Dirt Road Anthem&rdquo; claiming the #1 spot. Toby Keith, debuted his new single, &ldquo;Made In America&rdquo; on the show and it landed at an impressive #24 on the country digital track chart its first week. Downloads for Keith Urban&rsquo;s &ldquo;Long Hot Summer,&rdquo; which he performed on the awards, jumped 806%. Kid Rock saw the biggest gain in physical-album sales with a 34% jump for his latest, <em>Born Free</em>.

  12. Reba Returns to Sit-com Arena

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">It may have been four years since Reba McEntire&rsquo;s self-titled sitcom wrapped up its six-year run, but the singer has continued to flex her acting muscles. Last season, she guest-starred on both <em>CMT</em>&rsquo;s <em>Working Class</em> and <em>ABC</em>&rsquo;s <em>Better With You</em>, both of which starred her former <em>Reba </em>cohorts. In reality, Reba&rsquo;s just been prepping for her own sitcom, which she&rsquo;ll start shooting in August of 2012. &ldquo;<em>I'm so excited about doing another TV sitcom</em>!&rdquo; Reba says.&nbsp;&ldquo;<em>I miss the Reba show so much so it will be great to get back into the TV world again!!!&rdquo; </em>She is attached to executive produce and star in <em>Malibu Country</em>, which has been sold to <em>ABC</em>. Granted, even though the papers have been signed, there is always the possibility that the show will not be picked up by the network. If it is, the <em>Variety</em> reports that Reba will play a mother of three, who leaves her cheating husband in Nashville and moves her family to Malibu, California. There she focuses on reigniting her singing career, while hoping to shelter her children from the materialistic Malibu lifestyle.</span>
