In 2006, the Fortune 500 company sold $15 billion of products and services to consumers and businesses through three business units: North American Retail Division, North American Business Solutions Division and International Division. Office Depot has more than 1,200 stores in the U.S. and Canada, with a heavy concentration in Florida, California and Texas. The company plans to open 70 more stores by the end of 2007 and another 75 locations in 2008. The company is building a 625,000-square-foot global headquarters in Boca Raton at the Arvida Park of Commerce, and plans to move into its new home in October 2008. Office Depot received more than $15 million in state and local grants and incentives for the expansion and will invest about $210 million for its new headquarters. Chairman and CEO Steve Odland has led the company since March 2005 with a strategy focused on cutting costs across divisions and growing profits through private brand development and market expansion.
