3. Styx Stays Away From Politics.

<span style="font-size: small;">Sticks and stones may break bones and sometimes words do hurt people, especially when they are perceived as threats against the President of the United States. By now everyone knows Ted Nugent spewed some threatening words at President Barack Obama and other Democrats at the National Rifle Association convention last week that earned him a chat with the Secret Service, but Styx guitarist/singer James Young says politics will not come up in conversation when Styx, Nugent and REO Speedwagon kick off their tour together on May 1 in Hidalgo, TX. Young told Billboard, “You know, I don’t see any point in that, actually. I mean, Ted’s made his points very clear. And this is not about politics.”

  7. Maryland's missing guns

Maryland ranks near the top of the nation in the number of firearms its federally licensed gun dealers report as lost or stolen, according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, a distinction far out of proportion to the state's size or rate of firearm ownership. The question is how many were actually lost and how many were "lost" by dishonest gun dealers looking to sell off the books to people who couldn't qualify to buy a weapon.

  11. VOICE OF THE PEOPLE: 'You guys' need to watch your language

As a duly sworn officer of the speech police, it is once again my sad duty to report a blatant offense against our beautiful language, namely the expression "you guys" when referring to mixed groups of men and women. One would think that simple observation would be sufficient to establish the absurdity of such usage. While not as egregious as the stunningly stupid expression "walking on eggshells," it comes close.
