1. John Rich Says He'll Continue St. Jude Mission

John Rich continues celebrating his big win on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice this past Sunday, picking up a 250-thousand dollar check for his charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Overall John raised more than a million dollars for the hospital this season and he says the fundraising won’t stop now. “I’ll raise money for St. Jude ‘til the day I die. You know, Randy Owen from Alabama really is the great-granddaddy of country singers to raise money for St. Jude. He started it 25, 30 years ago. I think country music as a genre’s approaching a billion dollars that they’re responsible for, for raising money for that hospital. So, I’m a miniscule part of that, but I definitely want to do my part.” John performed his song, “For The Kids” on the live Apprentice finale. He wrote the song in honor of St. Jude families and all proceeds from the download of the single on iTunes will go toward the Memphis hospital.

  5. John Rich Wins Celebrity Apprentice

<span style="line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; font-size: 14pt;">After a long season of passionate celebrities fighting for various charities, Donald Trump has named John Rich the new Celebrity Apprentice. In the two-hour live finale on NBC Sunday night, the outcome of John and competitor Marlee Matlin’s final task was shown. Both stars created spectacular events showcasing 7UP Retro and both impressed the 7UP executives. John says winning Celebrity Apprentice is all about how you play the game. “You had to keep your head in the game and you had to be thinking forward and not become a victim of that game. You had to make that game work for you.” During the finale, John and Marlee came together for a performance of John’s “For The Kids,” a song he wrote and made available on iTunes to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “It is the answer to the question, ‘Why did you do Celebrity Apprentice,’ for that performance. Give me a chance to get in front of 30-million people and sing a song about St. Jude and give you an opportunity to go click a button and go put a dollar, twenty-nine in their pocket. That’s why I did the show.” John raised an extra 275-thousand dollars during his last task and picked up 250-thousand for being picked as the Apprentice. Combined with money raised throughout the season, the Big & Rich star raked in well over a million for St. Jude.

  7. John Rich defends Country Music

During Sunday night’s episode of Celebrity Apprentice, John Rich defended country music when teammates Jose Canseco and Richard Hatch demeaned the genres’ fans. It’s been months since the confrontation took place, but seeing the argument air got John all riled up again. “Well you wanna tell me how ironic it is that a tax evader who’s in prison and a roid-raging rat from baseball are going to sit back there and tell me that country music fans are dumb, backward hicks? Are you serious? And they still called it country-western, by the way, which shows how stupid they really are. I mean, that really set me off.” John says he also stood up for Trace Adkins when Donald Trump tried to take responsibility for launching Trace’s career. “And I said, ‘Well, uh, actually he was multi-platinum before he came on your show. He goes, ‘No, no. Trace Adkins, he was basically no one.’ And I look at him and I said, ‘You know what? You’re right. He, he basically was no one before your show. Thank you so much for putting him on here cause now we all get to hear, hear his great voice.’ And I just totally played along with it, like Donald Trump really thinks Trace Adkins was nobody before that show.” As for Canseco and Hatch demeaning country music, John says there’s a lot that was cut out in editing. He says their comments continued but eventually Hatch apologized.
