  1. Shelton Named ACM Top Male Vocalist

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Before Blake Shelton was awarded the ACM award for Male Vocalist of the Year on Sunday night, he was listening to Dierks Bentley perform his song &ldquo;Home,&rdquo; and thinking about how the words relate to his own career as an artist. &ldquo;I was standing there listening to Dierks sing that song and the lyrics of that song...I really was thinking, &lsquo;Man...&rsquo; That kinda fits where I&rsquo;m at, you know what I mean? It has been a long time to get to this point for me and I&rsquo;ve seen a lot of people come and go since I&rsquo;ve started that passed me and had big hits and I was always the guy that was in the audience wondering what it takes to be that.&rdquo; Blake&rsquo;s wife Miranda Lambert won the ACM for Female Vocalist of the Year.</span>

  2. Hosts Meet to Discuss CMA Awards

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood met this week to discuss their hosting duties on this year&rsquo;s CMA Awards. This will be the duo&rsquo;s fourth time hosting the annual event, and Brad says he and Carrie want to push the envelope even further this year. &ldquo;I think people get to know us as jokesters up there a little bit, and they know we&rsquo;re kidding, and it allows you so much more leeway then you have the first time you do it. You know, I feel like there&rsquo;s a lot I can get away with this time and&hellip;we&rsquo;ll find out.&rdquo; The 45<sup>th</sup> Annual CMA Awards air Wednesday, November 9<sup>th</sup> at 8PM Eastern on ABC. If Carrie wins Female Vocalist of the Year this year, it will tie her with Martina McBride and Reba for the most wins in that category with four. Brad is nominated for five CMA Awards: Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year.</span>

It&rsquo;s Blake&rsquo;s 10<sup>th</sup> career #1 song and his fastest-rising single to date. Blake is also enjoying his five CMA nominations, something he says he&rsquo;s not ashamed of. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m not one of them people that&rsquo;s gonna sit here and say, &lsquo;Aw man, I don&rsquo;t&hellip;I feel stupid bein&rsquo; nominated.&rsquo; Bull crap! That&rsquo;s awesome!     <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">BRAD PAISLEY &amp; CARRIE UNDERWOOD OPEN WITH A SONG OR THREE! Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood lived up to their promise not to pull any punches, starting the show by tweaking the Hank Williams, Jr. classic to &ldquo;Are You Ready for an Awards Show?&rdquo; However, Carrie was quick to nix it, due to recent ESPN drama, so the two tried their own take on &ldquo;Family Tradition,&rdquo; with a slight change to &ldquo;Hank, why do you drink? Before an interview. Why do you roll smoke? Before an interview.&rdquo; The song was interrupted, though, when Bocephus himself entered to a standing ovation and joined the two to finish the &ldquo;All My Rowdy Friends&rdquo; CMA Awards remix. Then, the co-hosts celebrated their fourth year hosting with gifts &ndash; Brad got the Faith Hill Barbie; Carrie, the Tim McGraw &ndash; and proceeded to have the dolls makeout with one another, while a blushing Faith and laughing Tim watched from the audience. To start the awards presentation, Brad and Carrie introduced Modern Family&rsquo;s Eric Stonestreet, who insisted on one more song, ala Randy Travis, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m Gonna Love You for 72 Days, Amen.&rdquo; Then, using the forever bench mark set by Kim Kardashian&rsquo;s 72-day marriage, the duo converted country marriages to &ldquo;forevers&rdquo; with Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert&rsquo;s 179 day marriage adding up to almost two &ldquo;forevers.&rdquo;</span>
