Wofford College, Spartanburg, S.C. — student Brodie Hart, son of Ward and Pam Hart of Stanford, is studying abroad this fall in Auckland, New Zealand.
Hart is a member of the Class of 2012.
Study abroad is a major component of Wofford's commitment to shaping globally connected citizens. Opportunities range from travel/study interim projects to a full year at a university abroad. Students may choose from more than 200 programs and 59 countries. Opportunities include service-learning, internships and cultural excursions.
Graduates
University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law: Daniel B. Elliott of Boyle County graduated with a Juris Doctor degree on May 14 at the Louisville Palace Theatre.
During law school, Elliott was a member of the Journal of Animal and Environmental Law and the 3L Honor Council. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Bellarmine University in Louisville with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.
While at Bellarmine, he was elected to Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Sigma Tau (Philosophy), served in student government, received the Bellarmine College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Merit Award for Social Sciences (political science), and was selected as a paid summer intern in the Washington, D.C., office of former U.S. Senator Jim Bunning of Kentucky in 2006.
He graduated with honors from Boyle County High School in 2003, and he is the son of Ruth Ann Elliott and the late Michael B. Elliott.
Miami University, Oxford, Ohio — Samatha June Garrison of Lancaster received a Master of Science degree.
