LEBANON CITY--—
A pit bull is found shot to death in Lebanon City early Saturday morning. Officers were called out to 5th and Walnut Streets around 4:30 a.m. for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived at the scene they found several shell casings and a body of a pit bull that had been shot to death, police said. Witnesses told police they heard several shots go off and then saw a silver BMW flee the scene. A short distance away, officers located Kevin Baez, 19, of Reading, sitting in a silver BMW with a gun, police said. Baez was taken into custody at the scene and charged with disorderly conduct and possession of a firearm without a permit. He was placed in Lebanon County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail. Investigators believe that an altercation occurred inside 510 1/2 Walnut Street and then spilled out onto the street. Details surrounding how the pit bull was shot and killed are still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 717-272-6611.
