Hooker Day Parade

Hartford's new mayor, Pedro Sagarra, dressed as the city's founder, Thomas Hooker, led the annual Hooker Day Parade in downtown Hartford Saturday afternoon. The Hooker Day Parade was founded in 1991 by Hartford Mayor Mike Peters to celebrate the anniversary of Hooker's arrival and to add a little excitement to the city with a wacky, off-beat parade. Saturday's parade was as wacky as ever complete with a surf rock band and go-go dancers, the Cone heads, a motor scooter club, and lots of marchers in costumes.
