Zack Schrantz, president/chief operating officer, UCAN

Social service agency UCAN has named Zack Schrantz president and chief operating officer.

Former President Tom Vanden Berk remains CEO.

Schrantz will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of UCAN and will oversee the organization’s financial, administrative, housing, clinical services, education and placement divisions.

Schrantz joined UCAN in 1990 as a caseworker. He switched to the finance side and moved up to executive vice president/COO, a role he's held since 2005.

Schrantz obtained his B.A. in economics and computer applications from the University of Notre Dame in 1989, and his master's degree in social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995.
