Honorable mention for this week's Reader SunShot series "Up the Down Staircase" goes to Karen Mallonee. The photographer took this picture at the Garrett-Jacobs mansion in Mt. Vernon with a Canon G10. The following is a critique by Baltimore Sun director of photography Robert Hamilton. "The photographer stated that she like the rich wood tones and lines of the image and I would agree with her assessment. I also like that the lantern is the center of focus giving the viewer a starting point in the picture and allowing them to explore from there."
