Roman Lao-Gosney, midfielder, Lehigh (11-2)

Lao-Gosney has put the Mountain Hawks on the map. The 6-foot, 198-pound senior captain from Maine has 16 goals.

"Roman is a freak athlete with ACC-type athleticism," says Lehigh coach Kevin Cassese. "I actually recruited him and his twin brother, Cameron, in my final days at Duke as an assistant. Roman has breakaway speed and a vicious first step on his dodge. He has been absolutely uncoverable this year."

Lao-Gosney is a late developer who didn't start playing lacrosse until ninth grade.

"He's an old-school two-way midfielder who plays defense," says Cassese. "The biggest change this year is his confidence level and sense of urgency."
